Weekend #BookTag: Three Bookish Things

Weekend #BookTag: Three Bookish Things

Happy weekend, my bookish friends! It’s time for another Book Tag, and I found this one over at Paperfury. I thought it looked fun, so hey, let’s do this! If you’ve done this book tag, link it down in the comments so I can see yours, and if not and you’d like to, consider yourself tagged!

I already know it’s going to be hard to constrain myself to just 3 on most of these…

3 Characters You Love

The Grandmother in My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman. She was such a fun and feisty character, but so much deeper than we are first led to believe.

Eve Gardiner in The Alice Network by Kate Quinn. She was another feisty old lady with an interesting past. Brave, strong, and hopeful in her younger years and a bitter old drunk in her older ones.

Christian Poe, originally introduced in the Mageri Series by Dannika Dark. He’s so snarky and funny, and yet dark and broody, but total bad-ass. Also, he’s a vampire. And he’s Irish. Lots of personality.

3 Unpopular Bookish Opinions

I could not get into George R.R. Martin’s Game of Thrones. I tried reading the first book years ago, long before they adapted it into a TV show. Had no idea who anyone was or what was going on 3 chapters in, so I gave up.

I firmly believe listening to audiobooks is still considered reading.

I still like the Twilight books. And Fifty Shades of Grey. #sorrynotsorry

3 Popular Bookish Opinions

I don’t think you need to be a teen to read YA.

Harry Potter (the entire series) should be marathoned every year at Christmas. (Books and/or movies, you pick.)

Dakota what’s-her-name was the wrong pick for Ana Steele in the Fifty Shades movies. Booooooooo! 🙁 Also, the movies were not great.

3 Favorite Book Covers

(It’s super hard to pick just three on most of these questions, just to throw that in there.)

3 Book Goals for the Year

Goal 1: Of course, there’s my goal to read 100 books this year. But since I’m only a few books away from already reaching that goal, I think I’ll probably increase it once I hit 100. (Last year I struggled to meet my goal of 50.)

Goal 2: Get all my ARCs read and reviewed. I’m so bad at this! I’m such a mood reader, and plus, I’m super bad about hearing less than stellar reviews from other book bloggers/vloggers and then not really wanting to read them anymore. But I’ve already downloaded the book, so it’s like I’m committed, so I procrastinate and feel guilty.

Goal 3: I’ve already started working on this, but one of my goals this year has been to broaden my reading tastes and start reading a wider variety of genres. This has proved to be a great goal. I’ve really enjoyed a lot of the books I’ve read that I wouldn’t have picked up before.
